Prajnaparamita Buddhist Center in Santa Monica is the second Kadampa Buddhist Center in Los Angeles. Opened in 2006, its purpose is to provide a facility where the people of west Los Angeles can train in meditation and other practices of Kadampa Buddhism. The center offers a range of meditation classes, study programs, chanted meditations and weekend events. In addition, the center has a small bookshop with Buddhist pictures, statues, books, CD's and much more.
The meditation classes offered at Prajnaparamita Buddhist Center combine guided meditation with practical advice on how to reduce stress and solve problems in daily life. Taught by Westerners, the meditation classes are very easy to understand and are suitable for both beginners as well as advanced meditation practitioners.
